The true struggle of our day has never been between conservatives and progressives. It has always been between authoritarians and libertarians. There are many different kinds of authoritarians (here's a hint: many of them call themselves Democrats and Republicans), but they're all just fighting to see who gets to run your life today. 

Governments throughout history have usually operated on the principle that the State has the right to dispose of the lives of individuals and the fruits of their labor. Even within the United States, all political parties other than our own grant to government the right to regulate the lives of individuals and seize their property without their consent. The Republicans and Democrats cling desperately to power through alarmism and intimidation, getting more and more extreme every election cycle. It's time to leave the fearmongers behind. It's time to embrace liberty. It's time to join the Libertarian Party and help promote peace, prosperity, and property rights.
